Biography
Why I am qualified to teach
Citizenship in the World*

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Attended Cass Tech High, Majored in Music. Major instrument was B-flat Tuba. Started playing the tuba in 4th grade and continued through college. Also, played the saxophone and stringbass as my woodwind and string intstruments.

Was very active in sports, played on the varsity football team and was on the varsity swimming team (butterfly man).

Joined the Cub Scouts in the 4th grade earned Lion and became Den chief. Moved on to Webelos at age 11 into the Boy Scouts. My first position in scouting was troop scribe. Later I was promoted to Patrol Leader, then to Senior Patrol Leader, then to Jr. Asst Scoutmaster. Along with the promotions , I also moved up in ranks to the highest rank of Eagle Scout. I earned fifty-two merit badges and was a member of the Order of the Arrows and moved up to Brotherhood.

After college, I became a Scoutmaster in the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I started a troop with a group of inner-city boys playing in the street. Later I took a staff position with the Boy Scouts of America as Asst. District Executive.

While Asst. District Exec., I was recruited by a group of local businessmen to run for the office of County Commission. I resigned my job with B.S.A and ran for County Commissioner and built a business in Real Estate and Income Tax Services (Paradise Homes Realty and Tax Services). After being defeated in the race for Commissoner, I focused my time on my scout troop and my buisness. I ran again two years later, only this time I won the primary election but, lost in the general election.

Later, I attended Georgia State University and earned a BBA degree in Risk Management and Insurance.

I taught history and economics for Dekalb County Schools as a substitute teacher in middle and high school levels.

Later I became a training instructor for Primerica Family Headquarters in Duluth, GA. I also, taught the State of GA Life and Health course and securities licensing courses, 6, 63 and 26.

In 1999 I resigned as instuctor and when full time into the business of financial services, later got promoted to Regional Vice President/Investment Adviser.
